Discover what’s new in JD Edwards Release 25

5 min

Oracle has just deployed the April 2025 update for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Release 25, strengthening its position as a leading digital ERP platform. This new version aligns perfectly with Oracle’s strategy to support the digital transformation of its customers by automating, optimizing, and transforming business processes.

Business Application Enhancements

Procurement

The update introduces Enterprise Automation for the Procure to Pay process with connected processes. This feature now links the purchase order process to the requisition process. Users can drill down from the requisition process to the purchase order process to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in their supply chain.

Capital Asset Management

The Work Order Master Ledger feature gives organizations access to a comprehensive history of all changes made to maintenance and service work orders. This historical data enables organizations to :

  • Meet regulatory and audit requirements
  • Establish a single source of truth, ensuring data reliability and accuracy
  • Enhance transparency and accountability by tracking every modification in maintenance operations

Real Estate Management

The new ability to save all Straight-Line Rent Batches for Leases allows users to maintain complete batch history while only allowing the latest calculation for current financial postings. This feature facilitates proper tracking of rent calculations and lease changes over time.

Legislative, Regulatory and Localizations

Brazil receives special attention with the introduction of the Simplified Dual VAT Regime that eliminates five taxes (PIS, COFINS, IPI, ICMS, and ISS) and unifies them into a single charge from 2026 through 2033, divided between the federal level (CBS) and state/municipal levels (IBS).

Tools Enhancements

Digital Transformation

EnterpriseOne Widgets

One of the key innovations in this update, EnterpriseOne Widgets evolve the concept of One View Watchlists by allowing the source of data to come from orchestration or logic extension output. Designers can now create aggregations or calculations over data, beyond simple record counts. For example, a Widget could provide a visualization of the average duration of a purchase order approval cycle for the past 12 months. Widgets also offer richer visualizations: bar charts to visualize data sets or gauges to track metrics within a range.

My Tasks

This feature provides two main enhancements:

  1. Orchestration messages can now be delivered to the notification list, in addition to existing notification messages
  2. Messages with tracked tasks are easier to identify, helping recipients become aware of important tasks to complete

Enhanced Comparative Criteria

Orchestrator form requests, data requests, the AIS data service API, and logic extensions now allow both the left and right comparison operands to be mapped from data items. For example, to get data about your efficiency in fulfilling orders, you can query : “Request Date > Promised Delivery.”

A similar enhancement is made to queries and Watchlists, allowing the right comparison operand to be mapped from a field on the form.

Other Orchestration Improvements

  • Warning when editing shared Orchestrator components to avoid situations where changes cannot be saved
  • Translatable orchestration input labels allowing language translations for these labels
  • Watchlists on EnterpriseOne Page Connectors exposing metrics about relationships between adjacent steps in a business process
  • Restrict file access to AIS temporary directory for enhanced administrative control
  • Pass application version as a variable in message links enabling dynamic application version configuration

System Administration

New features make system administrators’ work easier :

  • Web Package Build Definition: direct access to log and output files
  • JD Edwards Update Manager: Change Assistant Force Merge option
  • Server Manager: ability to clear the cache for EnterpriseOne Pages
  • Synchronized cache clear between Enterprise Server and HTML Server
  • Improved performance with TCP Fast Open on Oracle Autonomous Database Serverless

Enhanced Security

The April 2025 update significantly strengthens the security posture:

  • Support for HMACSHA256 string encoding allowing customers to encode their JD Edwards generated invoices and supplier payment files with stronger encryption
  • Automatic negotiation of TLS version for secure communication between the various components of JD Edwards

Platform Certifications

This release also includes new platform certifications:

  • Oracle Database 23ai on Oracle Base Database Service (Linux) on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Microsoft Edge Chromium 134
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server 9.0.5.22
  • Mozilla Firefox ESR 128
  • Safari 18.3 on iPad (iOS 18)
  • Apple iOS 18
  • Google Chrome 134

  2. Train your key users on new features, especially Widgets and enhanced orchestration tools
